I’m forever trying to come up with new challenges, and this one I borrowed from Western Australia’s premiere ride, which is the 5 Dams Ride which has about 250 km’s and a heck of alot of elevation. I wondered if it were possible to do a similar ride around Victoria, and took a look at Google & and worked out that I could put together a very similar ride. The 5 Dams would include:
- Greenvale Reservoir (Greenvale)
- Yan Yean Reservoir (Whittlesea)
- Sugarloaf Reservoir (Christmas Hills)
- Silvan Reservoir (Monbulk)
- Cardinia Reservoir
There is unfortunately a fair distance between the Cardinia Reservoir and Greenvale Reservoirs, but could be done as either the first or last leg of the ride.
The route can be easily changed between dams, but am happy if anyone wishes to go out & do this route:
