The Police Academy Hill is Melbourne’s steepest major road peaking at an insane 18%.  This climb is short & brutal and takes you up to the Victorian Police Academy.

    Thanks for the write-up Brendan. This one is close to home for me. The strava segment called “Horrible Hill” gives it away. The church on the left hand side always looks impressive. I used it as “training” for Baw Baw as I wanted something steep. Sure got what I was looking for!

    You can tackle the roundabout from all 4 directions for added variety.

    Personally I think the climb starts from jells rd but then it's only a mere 6% ave. gradient :p

    I sometimes go through here on my way to Glen Waverley station to get to work. I will definitely sort out a route for a crucifix!
